Hershey's Kisses

There's only two more weeks until the AP test! Here's one of my last concentration pieces. I ran out of wood (nooooooo~!) so i just used canvas. The girl is in graphite and oil and the background is in acrylic. The bottom part is actually a dark brown but my shitty camera made it look black T-T

I based this off of this old Hershey's ad:

Hikari Shimoda

Let's go on a little bit of a tangent with this post, shall we? Lately I've been obsessing over a Japanese artist called Shimoda Hikari. Check our her site: http://amakihikari.fc2web.com/
So as a result, I've been having the urge to draw and color in her style and keep some of her motifs in mind, but adding my own little twists. Here is what my brain has produced on this Shimoda-inspired high (these two were done with colored pencil. the one on the top has some digital components too though) :

Below are a few of my favorites of hers >3<

More AP Studio

Here's the newest piece for my vintage themed concentration. More work on wood. I wanted this to look like one of those old portraits where everyone just stares right into the camera with a blank face, so you don't really know what they're thinking...Okay so maybe I draw stuff like that all the time, but the point is I like blank faces! lol

I like my organized mess...Not really I should hella clean that up. Half of that stuff I didn't even use for this piece! Anyway, this is what my painting area looks like most of the time.

And here's another preview! This one is a sketch for a drawing/painting of an old Hershey's Kisses ad.
